Perhaps some people come to Jenesien because it is a place where, joyfully, very little has changed over the decades. The Gasthof zum Hirschen is still in exactly the same spot in the village centre! We’re just 9 km from Bozen, in a magnificent location where the sun is always shining and the food is always a delight. Where nature can still be nature, and where beautiful larch meadows and sweetly-scented forests blanket the sun-kissed mountain plateau of the Salten.

Our rural mountain village in the heart of South Tyrol is situated at 1,100 metres above sea level - and, to this day, remains a haven of peace and tranquillity far from the lands of mass tourism. If you’re staying at the Gasthof zum Hirschen, you’re always going to get a bite to eat - and not just any old bite! We treat our guests to a lavish breakfast buffet in the morning, complete with everything that drives away morning drowsiness - and all fresh, and regionally-sourced! In the evenings we serve a 5-course meal that is quite something to behold - incidentally, our cuisine has received awards from the Michelin Guide, Gault Millau and Falstaff! The smile on your face reaches all the way down to your stomach!
