Our Gasthof zum Hirschen is an officially-designated “Net-zero accommodation establishment”! We received this distinction as we use locally-sourced wood for heating, use solar panels, and strive to keep our emissions as low as possible. Every year we adopt new climate-protection measures which have led to significant C02 savings. And this has enabled us to provide our support to a clean drinking-water scheme in Uganda. Guests here provide a direct contribution to eco-sustainability!

That’s our motto, and it is reflected throughout our entire hotel, and in everything we do. We are so grateful for the fact that we live in such pure countryside, and want to preserve this beautiful land for all time.

Jenesien is a climate community—and we’re at the helm!
In our community of Jenesien, we are acutely aware of climate protection and the common good. Ever since 2015, the Gasthof zum Hirschen has also been a member of the Climate Neutrality Alliance 2025; together with other companies and establishments in the village, we have set ourselves the target of reducing our carbon footprint to minimum-possible levels by 2025, in all areas of life. And it’s a really good feeling!
